Archicad Studio, the entry plan, costs US$2,414 a year or US$345 a month (Graphisoft's US price list, seen on graphisoft.com on 22 October 2026). Archicad Collaborate costs US$2,840 a year and Archicad Max US$5,700 a year. Since 1 January 2026 Archicad is sold only as a subscription: Graphisoft stopped selling new perpetual licences, and owners with a maintenance contract (SSA or Forward) can convert to a subscription on special terms until 31 March 2027. Below are the UK and German prices, what each plan adds, and what the change means if you still own a perpetual licence.
How much does Archicad cost in 2026?
List prices per user, seen on Graphisoft's own pricing pages for the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany on 22 October 2026. Prices exclude tax.
| Plan | United States | United Kingdom | Germany |
|---|---|---|---|
| Studio, monthly | $345 | £274 | €393 |
| Studio, 1 year | $2,414 | £1,913 | €2,750 |
| Studio, 3 years | $7,242 | £5,739 | €8,250 |
| Collaborate, monthly | $406 | £320 | €440 |
| Collaborate, 1 year | $2,840 | £2,250 | €3,100 |
| Collaborate, 3 years | $8,520 | £6,750 | €9,300 |
| Max, monthly | $800 | £600 | "coming soon" |
| Max, 1 year | $5,700 | £4,200 | "coming soon" |
Graphisoft also sells MEP Designer Studio (US$1,208 a year) and BIMcloud SaaS (US$567 a year) separately. As with any subscription, check the page for your own country before you budget: prices and plan contents differ by region.
Is the three-year plan cheaper?
No. Three years of Studio cost US$7,242, exactly 3 × US$2,414, and Graphisoft bills the three-year plan in annual instalments. The same is true for Collaborate (US$8,520 = 3 × US$2,840). The three-year plan fixes the price for three years; it is not a discount at today's prices.
Studio, Collaborate or Max: what is the difference?
- Studio is the full Archicad modelling and documentation tool. It replaced Archicad Solo, which Graphisoft discontinued at the end of 2025. MEP Designer is no longer part of Studio. Studio includes BIMcloud Basic, so a team can already work together on a server in its own office.
- Collaborate adds teamwork in Graphisoft's cloud (BIMcloud SaaS) instead of your own server, MEP Designer, and BIMx Pro with Teamwork. It suits offices that want shared projects without running a server, or that work across several locations.
- Max adds more AI credits (250 a month per licence instead of 50) and the full set of add-ons on top of Collaborate. At about twice the price of Collaborate, it is for offices that know they need those extras.
The plan contents above follow Graphisoft's own descriptions and its community announcements; Graphisoft adjusts them between releases, so read the current comparison before choosing.
What happened to the perpetual licence?
Graphisoft stopped selling new perpetual Archicad licences on 31 December 2024 for new customers and on 31 December 2025 for existing customers. Licences you already own keep working, but your version will not be updated. Graphisoft runs a conversion programme, open until 31 March 2027, for perpetual owners with an active maintenance contract (SSA or Forward): the licence converts to a subscription on special terms at the contract's renewal date, and timelines can differ by country. If you own a perpetual licence, ask your reseller for the conversion offer in writing before that date and compare it with the list price above.
Before converting, count how many people in the office really model in Archicad and how many only look at the drawings: every converted seat becomes a yearly cost.
What the price does not include: the computer
Archicad runs on Windows and Mac. Graphisoft's system requirements page gives 8 GB of memory as the minimum, 16 GB as recommended, 32 GB for larger projects and 64 GB or more for very large ones; on Windows, only Windows 11 is supported. Check the requirements for your version on graphisoft.com, especially for rendering add-ins, before you buy hardware.
Free and education licences
Students and teachers can use a free one-year education licence, renewable, for non-commercial work; files made with it carry a watermark. There is a free 30-day trial. There is no free version for commercial work.
Does everyone in the office need an Archicad licence?
No. Only the people who create or change the model do. Everyone who reviews the drawings (engineers, project managers, clients, contractors) can work from the PDF set that Archicad publishes. Graphisoft's BIMx lets others walk through the model, but for checking a dimension, marking up a sheet or comparing two revisions, the PDF set is what is shared in practice.
That is also where a simple PDF reader starts to struggle: a full Archicad publisher set with many sheets, hatches and fills is heavy, and the reviewer needs a PDF tool that opens it smoothly, measures to scale and keeps markups as standard PDF annotations that the modeller sees again in any PDF program.
Quick summary
- Studio: US$2,414 a year or US$345 a month; the entry plan since Solo ended.

- Max: US$5,700 a year; more AI credits and add-ons.
- Three years: the same total as three single years, billed yearly; a price lock, not a discount.
- Perpetual: no longer sold; owners with SSA or Forward can convert until 31 March 2027.
- Platforms: Windows and Mac.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still buy Archicad once?
No. New perpetual sales ended on 31 December 2025 for existing customers and a year earlier for new ones. Perpetual licences already bought keep working on their version.
What happened to Archicad Solo?
Graphisoft discontinued Solo at the end of 2025. Studio is now the entry plan.
Should I convert my perpetual licence?
Only if you need new versions, and only if you have an active SSA or Forward contract, which the programme requires. Compare your reseller's written conversion offer with the list price, and decide before 31 March 2027, when the programme closes.
Is Archicad cheaper than Revit?
At US list prices on 22 October 2026, Archicad Studio (US$2,414 a year) costs less than Revit (US$3,005 a year). Revit LT is cheaper than both but leaves out teamwork and add-ins.
Do I need Archicad to open an Archicad drawing?
To edit the model, yes. To view and mark up the drawings, no: work from the PDF set published from Archicad.
We built Ncored in our architecture studio for the other half of the office: the people who review drawings rather than model them. It is a desktop PDF editor for large drawing sets from AutoCAD, Revit, and ArchiCAD, on Windows and Mac (Apple Silicon). It measures to scale, compares two revisions as an overlay and keeps files on your computer. It costs €12.99 a month, €79.99 a year or €159 once, with a 14-day free trial at ncored.com.
