Does my PDF get uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your PDF is never sent to a server, we never see it, and nothing is stored. That makes it safe for confidential construction documents, specifications, NDA files, and client paperwork, unlike converters that upload your PDF to a cloud server to process it.
Will the Word file look exactly like my PDF?
It keeps the editable text and the paragraph flow, which is what you want when you need to edit or reuse the wording. It does not reproduce the exact visual layout, multi-column positioning, tables, or graphics of the original page. Think of it as getting clean, editable text into Word, not a pixel-for-pixel copy of the page design.
It made an empty or near-empty Word file. Why?
That almost always means the PDF is scanned or exported as images, so there is no real text inside it to extract, only a picture of text. Run it through an OCR step first to turn the image into selectable text, then convert that to Word. PDFs that already have selectable, copyable text convert cleanly.
Is it really free, and is there a watermark?
It is free, with no signup, no email, and no watermark added to your Word file. It is a small thank-you tool from the team behind Ncored.
I work with heavy CAD drawings all day. What about those?
Pulling text out of a document is the easy part. The hard part is opening and marking up a 50-200 MB+ AutoCAD, Revit or ArchiCAD export without your PDF tool freezing on scroll and zoom. That is exactly what we built Ncored for, a fast desktop PDF editor for large construction drawings on Windows and Apple Silicon Mac. There is a free 14-day trial at ncored.com.
