Frequently Asked Questions

What size is A1 paper?
A1 is 594 x 841 mm, or 23.4 x 33.1 inches. It is the most common large-format sheet for architectural and engineering drawings. A1 is exactly half of A0 and double A2, which is how the whole ISO A series works: fold any sheet in half and you get the next size down.
What is the difference between ANSI and ARCH sizes?
ANSI sizes (A to E) are based on the US Letter sheet (8.5 x 11 in) doubled up, common in mechanical and engineering drawings. ARCH sizes (A to E) are based on a 9 x 12 in sheet and are the usual choice for US architectural drawings. ISO A sizes (A0 to A4) are the metric standard used in most of the rest of the world.
Does the blank-PDF generator upload my data?
No. The blank PDF is created entirely in your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is stored, and there is no file to upload in the first place. The same is true for the converter.
How do I convert millimetres to inches for a drawing?
Divide millimetres by 25.4 to get inches (1 inch = 25.4 mm). For example 841 mm / 25.4 = 33.1 in. The converter on this page does it both ways instantly, which is handy when a sheet is specced in one unit but your title block or plotter expects the other.
